[Sophie's never kept a journal before, and she thought it was usually just writing... but these books work a lot differently than normal ones. So, now that she's been here a while and gotten the hang of using the book to communicate, she feels confident in addressing the village as a whole.]

Hello, everyone! My name is Sophie. I live with Asbel and Cheria and the others.

I have a question. What's your favorite flower?

I'm planting a flower garden with flowers from different worlds. The flower shop has seeds, but I don't know which ones to pick. I want lots of people to see and enjoy the flowers, so that's why I want to know which ones everyone likes best.

[Though while she's using the book, she remembers a question she'd wanted to ask Pascal. She's not in the house, but maybe she can try this 'filtering' thing she's seen people do-]

My favorite flower is the selenia, though they are difficult to grow and I have not seen many of them here in Luceti.

Selenia... it sounds pretty.

Why are they hard to grow?

In my world, they would only grow naturally where large amounts of fonons were concentrated and would grow very weak otherwise. It takes a lot of effort and care to have them flourish.

But the flower itself is beautiful.

Fonons? What are those?

They're an essential part of my world, and what allow us to use artes. Everything in Auldrant is made of and held together by fonons.

[...] So then, if I used a healing arte on them, would they grow better?

Perhaps eleth as you know it serves the same purpose as fonons for my world. It isn't an uncommon trait for several of the worlds represented here.

[Though she knows that there's no way Sophie would know of the memories triggered when she asked that question, she couldn't avoid a sad smile.] ... And as a matter of fact, they would.

[...?] What's wrong? You look sad.

It's nothing, I just remembered something that made me a little sad, but I'll be all right. [There was no use in dwelling on that incident right now.]

How many flowers do you intend to grow after this?

As many as I can. Richard says we should put a rosebush in the middle.

A rosebush would make for a good centerpiece. Did he give you any reason for why that flower specifically?

I think he likes roses. He makes one in one of his attacks.

Does he? I don't think I've ever seen that particular attack.

"Vertex Rose." It looks complicated.

Maybe, I'll have to ask him about it sometime. [Though an actual demonstration might be a bit much.]

Though if you do find selenia, would you let me know? I haven't had luck finding them in the shop.

I don't know. Some others want to see them but no one's asked to help take care of them.

Would you be willing to let them all help? It would not hurt to at least offer if they are interested.
